Usually, I’m not a huge fan of fall. For me, it’s just a reminder that winter, the season I look forward to the least, is just around the corner. But this year I decided to embrace it—get out and take in the fresh, crisp air before the frigid conditions made their way to the city, and what better way to enjoy the essence of fall than a pumpkin patch? So, I headed to Faulkner’s Ranch, a local favorite that’s been around since the late ’90s.
Faulkner’s offers scenic hayrides, a petting barn, and a field maize that looks pretty effortless but proved to be quite the opposite…or I’m lacking in the navigation department…
It’s probably the latter.
Come for the pumpkins, stay for the fresh-baked pumpkin spice doughnuts and hot apple cider.
Unfortunately, if you didn’t make it to Faulkner’s this season you’ll have to wait until next year to grab all the pumpkins and gourds your heart desires, since their last day of the season falls on Halloween. If by chance you’re not into pumpkin picking, this patch is the ideal backdrop for photo-ops with family, friends, or that special someone. Or, just come for the doughnuts.
Doughnuts are always a good idea.
Until next time,
Embrace this season of giving and
Be Grateful
